First of all, we can say the working principle of rotor and stator in generator motors is based on the same principle with many other electrical motors. Defining rotor and stator will make it very clear to understand the working logic of motors. The component of rotor, acting as the armature, rotates in the field, cutting the lines of force and producing the desired output voltage. On the other hand, the stator is the indispensable part of rotary electromagnetic devices like the electric motor or generator.
Basicly, the working principle is a bit simpler when compared to the other kinds of motor components. When power is supplied to the motor, a rotary magnetic field is generated in it. Its function varies depending on the machines such as electric motors and generators, and some other devices. The rotary produces a magnetic field to drive the rotor in the motor. In a generator, it converts a rotary magnetic field into an electric current. Likewise, fluid-operated devices reflects the flow of fluid in the direction of the moving part of the system.
